Authors Should Be Optimistic

A customer recently wrote to me and asked what he thought about his use of a journalist to promote his book - up to $ 4000 per month. In my usual blunt way, I responded by saying the liberalization of published books never sell more than 100 copies, 2000 that the sale is considered exceptional in the industry and that the number of people who sell between 50000 100000 and can probably be considered in one hand. I was simply not sure publicist give the facts, since the publicist said, was to do a lot of money by this author, if a book sells or not. After a while, I started thinking that I painted a rather bleak picture of the whole industry and at the same time realized that yes, many self-books little money, there are exceptions, and his book - or his book, could well be the exception. Success stories are not hard to find. The MJ Rose, for example, which issued its first electronic book and subsequently sold to Doubleday. Since then, his writing career took off and has recently announced the sale of three Paranormal Armando Riesco. One of my former clients, Paul Clayton, Booklocker is used to produce his novel War Carl Melcher visit to Vietnam, which was echoed by the traditional publisher, Dunne Books. Similarly, Marnie Robinson with peace between the sheets, which has also been acquired by a traditional publisher after his release by Booklocker. I had another client, also published by Booklocker, met for two hours and 48 Good Morning America. But another sold nearly 1000 pounds in two days, even if it did not use any self-publishing and managed the project independently. According to industry experts (ie, those who can make money if GoBS self-published), it is unlikely that a new author will be able to sell a book to a traditional publisher on the market today. At least one company owns quickly assure you that even if they manage to sell his book, you do not get a breakthrough, if you are quite. Maybe. If this is true or not, this certainly was not the case during the 27 years, Marisha Pessl's first novel, which recently sold at auction for hundreds of thousands of dollars. The fact is that if you have a good book and there is a market for these products, there is no reason to allow others to dissuade you try to find a traditional publisher or agent, if any way you want to go. There are many reasons for free (especially if you have a niche market). Just make sure the advice they receive is correct.
